🐝 In celebration of #CatholicSchoolsWeek SMS students participated in a "Catholic Bee" on Friday! The "white" & "blue" teams faced off to test their knowledge of the Mass, scripture, liturgical seasons & more. Students in the audience were also invited to answer the questions on their clipboards. The teams "buzzed in" with their answers using light up bee sculptures made by students in our Makerspace Lab. The white team claimed victory in a close match, but every on-stage participant was a winner thanks to Target gift cards generously donated by the St. Mary's Knights of Columbus. Grade 5 was movin' & groovin' today while they reviewed adding & subtracting fractions! Students were given a minute to complete each equation, then when Mrs. Laderer shouted "Scoot!" they moved on to the next problem. #mathisfun #knowledge #fractions #grade5

❄️🐧 Miss Gon's Kindergarten class embraced the snow & cold to do their monthly writing piece on penguins, as well as completed a penguin directed drawing. Grade 2 had an #engineeringchallenge today! Students used solid pieces to build towers which had to stand 16.5" tall. This was a complex task as they needed a wide base , & to communicate & cooperate with each other in order to be successful! #grade2 #science #math #knowledge
